How much disk space do you need for call recordings?

Begining with SP04 and higher you do have the option to save the file record format as GSM or PCM.

The data rate for PCM is 128Kbps with a file size of 960K per minute and the compression factor is 1:1.
The GSM data rate is 13.2KBps with a file size of 96K per minute with a compression factor of 10:1.

The difference is that instead of almost 1 meg of file per minute you get roughly a .09 meg of file per minute.

The trade off between GSM and PCM is the sound quality.  The more compressed the less quality of sound.

Choose your format wisely and consider playback options.  The PCM format is saved as a .wav file and GSM is save as a .gsm file.

Also please be aware that begining with SP04 and higher you can save recordings in Stero format (both channels on there own speakers) but that is not possible with the GSM format.
