Error installing BCM7 Web Server in IA

During Web Server Virtual Unit installation you may get an IA default error message:
Failed to run method 'postinstall' in 'I:\SAP\BCM\Install\7.0.3.100\Web Server\method' : Method returned an error : Exit code=1=0x1 ... not saying almost anything :)

To get more detailed and informative message you can open IA menu Settings - Local Logging Paramaters:


and set Log Detail level to "Include details". Next you have to open Logs Directory and latest IA log file (not alarms) and search for detailed error information.

In this case before common:

It's probably because of missing IIS setting – Open System Management \ Roles \ Web Server \ Add Role Services and add Management Tools \ IIS 6 Management Compatibility \ IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility

BCM7 IA is using IIS6 Metabase Compatibility feature to connect to IIS7 service to install and configure BCM Web Server Virtual Unit.
