How to configure a workstation to start using BCM

Prerequisites
BCM client workstation need to have the Microsoft Internet Explorer software installed.

Procedure of enabling a client workstation to start using BCM

To enable using the software in the Internet Explorer, configure workstations in the following way.

1. Start the Microsoft Internet Explorer software and choose Tools->Internet Options->Security->Trusted Sites->Sites.
2. Add to the trusted sites the IP addresses of the BCM Website.
3. Click the Custom level button, and set the following Security Settings.
  • ActiveX controls and plug-ins:
    • Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls: Enable.
    • Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting: Enable.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Use Phishing filter: In IE7 and earlier only: Disable.
    • Use SmartScreen filter:In IE8 only: Disable.
    • Use Pop-up Blocker: Disable.
  • Scripting
    • Allow Programmatic clipboard access: Enable. This setting is required for the Task Manager application to work properly.
  • User Authentication
    • Logon. Select the Automatic logon with current name and password option. This setting is required if the system is divided on multiple servers.
4. Click the OK button, and close the software and reopen it to apply new configuration.
